Privacy & your data

Last updated: July 2026
The short version: To use the review tool you create an account, so we store your email and which plan you're on. We store a record of the contracts you've reviewed to power your history and your monthly limit. We never store your full contract. On plans that include saved history (Pro and Max), we save the results of the scan — the clauses we flagged, what they mean, and a short quoted extract of each flagged clause so you can re-open the review later. You can rename or permanently delete any saved review at any time, and deleting your account deletes all of it. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. The instant clause scan runs in your browser. The AI deep review sends your text to our AI provider to write the memo, and it isn't stored afterwards. We don't sell your data.

What happens to your contract

What we collect and store

Who processes your data

A few providers help run the service. Each handles only what it needs to:

We encourage you to review each provider's own privacy terms.

Your choices and your rights

How long we keep it

We keep your account, subscription and review-history data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove that data, except where a provider (such as Stripe) or the law requires a record to be kept for a limited period.

Cookies & analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) to understand how the site is used. It doesn't track you across other sites or build advertising profiles. We use only the cookies strictly needed to run the Service — for example, to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How we protect your data

We use reputable providers and industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

When we may disclose information

We may disclose information if required by law or legal process, or where we believe in good faith it's needed to protect our rights, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the safety of any person.

Where your data is processed

The Service is operated in, and intended for, the United States. Your data is processed and stored in the US by us and our providers. If you use the Service from outside the US, you consent to your data being processed here.

California residents

If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access, correct or delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we have not done so. To exercise a right, email bryce@contractsinsider.com.

Children

The Service is for adults (18+) and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this notice from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised notice.
